The General and main Statement of the International 5 Film & Photo Award Festival

Festival 5 is a prestigious and large festival for film and photography. This festival supports artists from all over the world by awarding exquisite prizes. We have been holding this festival for five years. Our goal is to find independent and modern artists. We support independent artists. Artists who have worked hard to produce their works

International 5 Film & Photo Award Festival is a Festival that is specially established in the field of Photography and Video Art, and its main goal is Fine Art in the Art of Photography and Video Art.

(Recording a Fine Art Photo actually means recording an image that well depicts the real aspect of the Subject in the Photo and invites the audience to some kind of Challenge.In other words, Fine Art Photos share a kind of personal point of view, a special message and a Metaphorical Concept with the audience and create a new kind of Image (Image heresy).Of course, the main focus of this Festival is the genre of Still life and landscape, but other genres of Photography that have this feature (Fine Art) can be examined and judged, including Photomontage , ….

5 Film & Photo Award Festival

The 5 Photo & Film Award is an international event for photography and film with the intention to create a bridge between different countries and cultures. The festival is inspired by a 500 years old tree in the suburb of Damavand, located in the village of Aro.
This tree has been the subject of photographs of international director and photographer Abbas Kiarostami every year in different seasons for many years. His photographs have been exhibited under the title “Snow White” in world-renowned galleries such as the Centre Pompidou in Paris and the Museum of Contemporary Art in New York.
About 5 years ago, Mehdi Shadizadeh, a documentary photographer and filmmaker and the founder of 5 Photo Award photographed this tree again and created the festival to celebrate this cultural and iconic symbol, which symboliyes Abbas Kiarostami’s artistic legacy.
The number “5” is derived from the movie “5” made by Abbas Kiarostami, which has been published in 2002 and contains 5 scenes with the average duration of 16 minutes.

This award is the most important and the most important award of the photography department of International Film and Photo Festival. Every year, one number is given to the best photographer, and another number is given to the best video artist of this festival

The New Look Award for photography is the most important award of the international 5 photo & Film Award festival
The New Look Award: includes photos in which the composition is no longer important in photography and the subject. And photos included in this section in which the concept is developed through experimental movements, including playing with the shutter and aperture, etc. for close up. Abstraction of photos is done as much as possible, which includes photomontage.

This award is the most important and the main award of the International 5 Photo & Film Award Festival , one of which is awarded to the best Photographer and another to the best Film of this festival.

Festival Palace

Mellat Cinema Gallery Campus or Mellat Cinema Campus is located in District 3 of Tehran Municipality and is built on a long and undefined shape of land with an area of 6000 square meters and 15000 meters of infrastructure in the southwestern end of Bostan Mellat (Mellat Park.
Due to its location in the park area, this complex benefits from all its advantages as an area.
This cinema was built by the Cultural Spaces Development Organization with a design by Harak Sial consulting engineers ( Reza Daneshmir and Catherine Spiridonov ) [1] .
At the time of its opening in 2007, the Mellat campus had four halls with a capacity of 278 people and one hall with a capacity of 30 people. The increase of halls was designed by engineer Aydin Toloui in such a way that no changes were made in the interior architecture and facade of the building.

National Cinema Day

This program is one of the most Important parts of the International 5Photo Award Festival, which is held every year on November 27 , which coincides with the National Cinema Day in Iran.
The Foundation and basis of the Formation of this department is completely research-oriented and the purpose of holding it is to examine the Dialectic in Cinema and Photography and any concepts related to these two Arts from the perspective of Growth and challenges.
The Duration of this Section is one Week and these Programs are accompanied by specialized review meetings every year.
Executive programs of the previous courses were a Week with Documentaries about Abbas Kiarostami, a week with the Great Photographers of the world, and Yasujiro Ozu’s Cinematography Effects on the New Wave of Iranian Cinema.
